St Emilion (40mins) - UNESCO World Heritage Site Saint-Emilion is a charming medieval village located in the heart of the famous Bordeaux wine area. It is a very unique site were world-famous wineries, fine wine, beautiful architecture and great monuments.

Bordeaux - The area's three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Saint-André Cathedral, the Saint-Seurin Basilica, and the Saint Michel Basilica. A premier wine-growing area of South West France The history of Bordeaux wine spans almost 2000 years to Roman times when the first vineyards were planted. In the Middle Ages, the marriage of Henry Plantagenet and Eleanor of Aquitaine Lascaux (Lascaux Caves) is the setting of a complex of caves in Southwestern France famous for its Paleolithic cave paintings. The original caves are located near the village of Montignac, in the department of Dordogne. They contain some of the best-known Upper Paleolithic art. These paintings are estimated to be 17,300 years old.

Bergerac - 22kms There are three museums, including the town museum, a statue museum and a tobacco museum. The church of Notre Dame is located in the town centre. There is also a wine house by the river which features a small exhibition on the history of wine growing. Bergerac offers some of the finest wines in the Bordeaux region due to the soil's excellent drainage - a result of its proximity to the Dordogne River.

Lacanau - 30 miles west of Bordeaux, Lacanau-Ocean sits on a 12 mile stretch of wide sandy beaches where huge waves crash to the shore so it is very popular with surfers.
